There is a new development in town! Marathon Robotics in Huntsville officially cut the ribbon on their new robot production facility. This is a huge step forward, a valuable addition to our community, and yet another big defense contractor in Huntsville.
About Marathon Robotics
The nation’s first autonomous ground robot production facility for military and police training has been unveiled right here in our own town! Marathon Robotics in Huntsville celebrated the opening of this new facility in the Cummings Research Park this past month.
Supporting the manufacturing of autonomous robotic training systems, or ARTS, this new facility will provide a safe place to operate on unimproved ranges in support of the military and law enforcement.
ARTS includes realistic mannequins mounted on armored, intelligent robots. These advanced robots move independently, flinch and lay down when shot, and can even yell as they run for cover or charge towards the firing line.

“I want to thank Marathon for their investment in our city. This technology was a perfect candidate for the Alabama Robotic Technology Park, and now we’re proud they’ve chosen to expand in Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park. Marathon is a great example of how industry supports Redstone Arsenal, our economy and our armed forces” praised Mayor Tommy Battle.
This established company makes this new facility a very welcomed business to the Huntsville community.
Eliminating the fatal gap with AI-driven, armored robots that look and move, Marathon Robotics will help train all the men and women in uniform to be more effective and prepared.
