Things to Do: Huntsville Havoc Hockey Games

Huntsville Havoc Hockey Games

Huntsville Havoc hockey games are in full swing at the Von Braun Center in downtown Huntsville! “The Pack is Back” and ready to defend their title as Southern Professional Hockey League President’s Cup Champions for the third year!

Wreak Havoc!

Huntsville Havoc made Southern Professional Hockey League history in 2018 by becoming the first fourth-seeded team ever to take the championship. In 2019, the Huntsville Havoc held on to the President’s Cup Championship by defeating the Birmingham Bulls in the finals.

This year, the Havoc is ready to face-off all the way to the play-offs by collecting those wins throughout the regular season, which is currently set to end in early May. The team is ranked fourth in the league at the moment with four games played and an even split of wins versus loses.

Hockey—like many action sports—makes every second count in each of the three 20-minute periods. Add some fast-paced fun to your winter by bundling up and heading to the VBC for Huntsville Havoc hockey games. For Southerners, half the fun of hockey is chanting the last names of team favorites like the newly-announced captain and alternate captains. Forward Tyler Piacentini is team captain for the 2020-2021 season. He’s been a on the team for four seasons, including the two championship seasons.

More names to yell with a twang belong to the alternate captains, forward Sy Nutkevitch and defenseman Nolan Kaiser. Be sure to check out a full team roster online before the game and even get cool (or warm) gear for the game!

One tip for first-timers, don’t stand up or move around while the puck is in play!

Watching the puck fly around the rink as hockey players push it along at lightning speed, aiming to send home—all the way across the goal line—is exciting!
